Gala Honorees Embody the CityLax Mission
CityLax has always been about more than lacrosse — it’s about access, opportunity, and the power of mentorship to change lives. This year's award honorees combine to encapsulate the mission.
At its core, CityLax has always been about more than lacrosse — it’s about access, opportunity, and the power of mentorship to change lives. The organization has opened doors for thousands of New York City public school students, using the game as a pathway to education, confidence, and long-term success.
On May 6, that mission takes center stage at the annual CityLax Gala at the New York Athletic Club — the organization’s most important night of the year and its largest fundraiser, fueling free programs and opportunities for student-athletes across all five boroughs.
This year’s honorees each reflect a different dimension of that impact. Britt Brown, recipient of the Ed McGuinn Humanitarian Award, represents the power of access turned into generational change. Billy Nguyen, the inaugural Gavril Pasternak Volunteerism Award honoree, embodies mentorship and service both on and off the field. And Adam Doneger, a former All-American and U.S. National Team gold medalist, will be inducted into the CityLax Hall of Fame for his continued contributions to the CityLax mission and the sport.
Together, their stories capture what CityLax is all about: creating opportunity, building leaders, and inspiring those who come next.
Explore each honoree’s journey and see how one moment — one introduction to the game — can create a lifetime of impact.
