CityLax Expands Leadership with New Executive and Advisory Board Members

Nonprofit strengthens governance and strategic guidance as it continues to grow programming across New York City

New York, NY - CityLax, the nation’s largest urban-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to lacrosse for underserved youth, has announced the appointment of several new members to its Executive Board and Advisory Board, reinforcing the organization’s leadership as it continues to expand programming across New York City.

The following individuals have been elected to the CityLax Executive Board:
Chelsea Ruebling, Cristin McGuinn Hayes, Paul Murphy, Ben Kaminow, Max Levine, and Marty Cohn.

CityLax has also welcomed three new members to its Advisory Board: Moner Mosa (a CityLax alum), Caroline Kasper, and Lindsey VanEgmond.

These additions come at a time of continued growth for CityLax, which provides free lacrosse programming including Discover Lacrosse in-school programs, Winter Clinics, Summer Camps, and Open Play opportunities to student-athletes throughout all five boroughs of New York City.

“CityLax continues to grow both on and off the field, and we are excited to welcome these outstanding leaders to our Executive and Advisory Boards,” said Rich Lisk, CEO of CityLax. “Each of these individuals brings unique expertise, passion, and perspective that will help strengthen our foundation and guide the organization as we expand opportunities for student-athletes across New York City.”

CityLax leadership conducted a comprehensive review of its governance structure as part of its continued growth strategy. The expansion of both the Executive Board and Advisory Board ensures the organization is well-positioned to support increased programming, deepen community partnerships, and strengthen fundraising efforts.

“Our goal is to build a leadership structure that reflects the momentum CityLax has created over the past two decades,” said Rob Pannell, CityLax Board President and Premier Lacrosse League star. “With these additions, we are strengthening the organization’s foundation and positioning CityLax for its next phase of growth, allowing us to reach more schools and student-athletes throughout the city.”

Founded in 2005, CityLax has introduced lacrosse to more than 20,000 student-athletes and helped establish programs at more than 70 New York City public schools. With the goal of building well-rounded individuals who are prepared to tackle life’s challenges, CityLax programming is offered free of charge, removing financial barriers and ensuring access to equipment, coaching, and mentorship for underserved communities.

“As CityLax continues to grow, expanding our leadership network is critical to sustaining and scaling our impact,” added Lisk. “We are grateful for the time, expertise, and commitment these new board members bring to the mission.”

CityLax’s continued growth will also be highlighted at its Annual CityLax Gala on May 6, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year supporting free programming across the five boroughs.
