HELP CHANGE LIVES BY PARTNERING WITH CITYLAXWHAT WE DOCityLax uses lacrosse as a teaching mechanism to help student-athletes take charge of their education, live healthier lifestyles, and develop life skills for successful college and career advancement.
OUR GOALOur goal is to enrich the lives of lower income, at-risk youth by using lacrosse as a vehicle to raise school attendance rates, grow academic performance, and provide opportunities to attend college.
We are currently focused on introducing/expanding lacrosse into New York City schools and afterschool educational enrichment and mentoring with an emphasis on middle school and geographies that historically have had little or no access to the game and that are predominantly comprised of populations from lower income families.

ALUMNI TESTIMONIALS
CityLax has provided me with an abundance of opportunities, both on and off the field. After learning that CityLax held free winter clinics every Sunday my freshman year, I attended each session with the goal of improving my skills and abilities. Through these winter sessions as well as summer camps and pick-up games, I was able to learn from college and professional lacrosse players. CityLax partners with amazing programs and organizations to help students athletically and academically throughout the New York City area. |
Sports have a unique way of transforming and igniting a fire in young people. CityLax was that spark for me when lacrosse was introduced to my school in the Bronx back in 2006 and it has all come full circle since then. I’m proud to be a Christopher Columbus HS (2010 PSAL Champs!) and CityLax alum. From being a participant in the program to now coaching and serving on the junior advisory board- I’m thankful for the program that never doubted me and continues to empower student-athletes like myself, from inner city NYC public schools to be the best version of ourselves on and off the field. |
