College Guidance Support for CityLax Student Athletes

Goddard’s Options Center has been helping NYC public school students gain college opportunities for the last 20 years. As a FREE service to CityLax student-athletes, the Options Center has qualified college counselors on their staff to guide students through the entire college process, including making a list of schools, writing and submitting applications, obtaining application fee waivers and scholarships, applying for financial aid, and so on. Sessions at their Center on West 110th Street in Manhattan are always individual and are tailored to students’ needs, which means that students can meet as often or as infrequently as they would like, or even come in just for a one-time session. Options’ college counselors are trained to work with the students’ high school college counselors so that the advice the students receive is supplementary and not redundant to the advice they are already receiving. The Options Center also provides a series of workshops for Seniors and Juniors that cover a variety of topics that students can attend as individuals or in groups.
